As If I Didn't Already Love Ellen...

a friend on facebook points me to this link (scroll down)...

I KNOW! Exciting! Before I explain, I must share how much I adore Ellen. I watch her show while making lunches during the day, and record it for days that I'm running around with the kids. When I was pregnant last year and feeling sick and miserable... and then big and uncomfortable... she brought me laughter and also just an uplifted feeling with the spirit she has and gives to others. I enjoy her chemistry with her staff (especially Tony), her generous nature with her audience and fans, and her clever interaction with her guests. I used to love her Ellen sitcom many years ago as well!

I have contacted Ellen's show quite a few times - in fact, they may have started 'flagging' my e-mails! First off, I sent a mailing of ed&bv soon after it was published. Then, I noticed she was featuring more guests about plant-based/vegan diets, and every time one of those spots aired I fired off an e-mail of gratitude... and also gushed that I would love to be on her show to cook some treats for her and her guests. And, I mailed another copy of ed&bv (along with Vive if my mama memory serves me correctly)!

Now that she is vegan, she is continuing to show more segments about vegan cooking/foods, etc. This past week she had a cooking segment with Wolfgang Puck making veggie pizzas. One of my fb friends, Alison, mentioned this segment in a comment. I noted that I "liked" it on fb... and then Alison replied to me how cool it was to see ed&bv on Ellen's web page. ???!!! I had no idea! Though there's no additional info on ed&bv when you link through to see the list of books in more details, I am stoked to see that ed&bv has somehow reached Ellen.

Let's just say my birthday came a little early this year. :)

  6. It would be FANTASTIC to see you on the Ellen show to do a cooking demo! Keep trying - I bet she may have you on there one day! (and definitely let us know when it happens) I've had the good fortune of being able to attend Ellen's show live in L.A. twice now - last month and once last year, too. It was so much fun. I will do it every time I go to L.A.

  25. Hi all,

I have watched lots of movies that support the veggie cause, but many have blood scenes that shocks and sometimes make people stop watching it.

Thinking about that I made a youtube movie with a different approach, but without loosing the main message.

I would like to hear yours opinions and sugestions.

Thanks and sorry for my poor english.

  26. Sorry to be negative, but...isn't Ellen a spokesperson for Cover Girl, which is owned by Proctor and Gamble? That means she is working for a cosmetics company which still engages in animal testing! (I apologize if my information is incorrect)

  27. Thanks SO very much for all of your support. It would be living a dream to be on Ellen, and I'm honored to have my book on her web page. I truly appreciate all of you sharing in my excitement and giving your encouragement. How awesome you are!!

Alison, that is too cool - you must have loved taking in her show - and twice... lucky!! :)

Stephanie, I loved reading that very excited comment - and I'm with you, she is just terrific!

Sarah, now that IS funny!! Thanks, though. ((hugs)) to you...

Radioactivevegan, that is most supportive - thank you!

Michelle, I'm speechless - or is that type-less??!! ;) Seriously, that is too kind, thank you. I adore her positive spirit too, she gives a lot to her viewers just in the good feeling she spreads.

Trinity, many thanks for offering to e-mail her show!

Vegmom, you're welcome to share your opinion, no apology needed. I don't know the status of Cover Girl and animal testing. I think Ellen is doing a remarkable job of opening up the world of vegan eating to a huge audience. Perhaps you consider e-mailing her about the connection between Cover Girl and animal testing - if they are still doing such (I don't know what their position is with this, maybe others might??). Thanks for your note.

Again, thank you EVERYONE for your good vibes!!!
