"In short, none of us can change the world single-handedly, and few of us are naive or self-centered enough to imagine that, in isolation, our own individual choices and ways of living will change vast social structures of inequality. Despite this fact, many of us live in ways that mirror the kind of world we think we would like to see, even if we are realistic about lasting and long-term change being difficult and requiring social struggle." Mushroom Burger Gets A Makeover
Once up a time there was a mushroom pecan burger. It was good. Very good. But now... it's better (get the recipe!).
i love your blog, the way you include information pertaining to nutrition and health with your recipes. i recently started my own blog and i try to do the same thing. i think it's vital to get the word out and open doors! i'm so glad i found your website. thank you. i hope you don't mind i added you to my list of websites i would like to follow.
ReplyDeleteBetter than that burger seems impossible. But I take your challenge and will try this new recipe.
ReplyDeleteWill the burgers hold up to the BBQ? I love the earthy, woody taste of a BBQ charcoal burger (pre-vegan of course!), the burgers that are homemade often are I have to throw in the cast iron pan and then cooked over the BBQ. Will these hold up to the direct grill?

Thank you Ms., and I'm happy to have you link me... good luck with your blog!
ReplyDeleteCool that you are a fan of that burger, Colleen!! Well, if you give it a try, I would love to know how you compare the two and which is the best burger 'in your books'... trying to be punny. ;)
North of 17, I haven't tried them on the bbq myself, but you know, I think they'd hold up pretty well if not terrific. Be sure to oil the grills (and even lightly brush each side of the patty) to keep it from sticking on the grill. Next time I make them, they are destined for our bbq as well - now I'm curious!
Tried these last night and they turned out GREAT!!! My meat eater husband had two. My 5 year old would not eat them but was spotted leaving the dinning room eating a plain one in her hand. She later said she loved it. My 8 year old ate every bite. We will be making them again very soon.
ReplyDelete3veggies - Yipeee!!! I'm so happy to hear that! When in the realm of my own kitchen it's always so great to know that a recipe is well-received by people outside of family and friends that get my 'testers'! Thanks for leaving a note. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna give this burger a go! It's been ages since I last made a burger. My vegan boyfriend has been asking for some homemade burgers!
