Link Apology

Hi guys, if some of you linked on my blog yesterday or this morning, you might have seen some cooking video links from ifood.tv.  I had arranged to have vegan specific videos streaming on that link, but I came across two that weren't acceptable to me.  I have since removed the ad.

My apologies to any of you upset to hear a reference to salmon/meat, or see cheese in a cooking video on my blog.  I want you to know that when I set up any advertising links here, I am very particular that they are vegan, and represent the kind of foods I would eat and feed my family.  I have had advertising requests for products and services that are either not entirely vegan, or are vegan but something I wouldn't personally eat or feed my children.  While I would like to generate more support for my work and continue to grow and reach more people, I won't accept advertisements that don't fit with eating vegan or sit right with me.

Just needed to share that... now to get on with my day.  I have some edits to take care of, my manuscript is due next week!  Will have details about the book before the end of June!

  1. I really like the fact that you select the ads on your blogs... I saw an ad for some chicken recipe on a vegan blog recently, and it really felt odd.

I can't wait to hear more about your new book... and to cook from it, obviously!

  2. I was reading your blog yesterday and heard a faint noise...someone talking, and I realized it was a video on your blog. They were making rosemary roasted potatoes. And, I wondered if all the videos were going to be vegan.

I'm glad you stick to your beliefs and had it taken off.

I too can't wait to hear more about your book. :)

  3. Good for you! I wish there were more with integrity like this. I personally have ad blocker so I don't see too many ads but I have seen chicken ads on so-called vegan blogs/

  4. i really admire your choice not to include those ads...i find them all over other vegan/vegetarian blogs...having been a small business owner, i know how difficult it is to find new sources of revenue stream...too bad bloggers can't elect what types of ads they allow on their blog (i don't even know if this is an option?)

I'm looking forward to your book!
