Here it is! LET THEM EAT VEGAN!

Almost four years in the making...

I love this cover.  It is sharp and bright and feels fresh, vibrant, and alive!  Just the message I want to communicate with this book.

And, the theme of "Plant-Powered" runs throughout the book.  These are nutritionally dense recipes, made with the vegan basics - whole grains and whole-grain products, beans, seeds, nuts, vegetables and fruits.  Yes, there are sweets, but even these I've made with healthier options in mind, and no vegan substitutes (ie cream cheese, margarine).  And, I've given you informational sections like your "Eating Your Greens", "Plant-Powered Lunchbox", and "Plant-Powered Pantry".  Plus, ALL the recipes are either wheat-free or gluten-free, or have the substitutions to modify accordingly.

The back cover includes quotes from Julieanna Hever and Mark Reinfeld.  Here they are:
"Dreena brilliantly delivers the perfect balance of wholesome, health-promoting nutrition with decadent and creatively extraordinary recipes, while being mindful of food allergies, picky kids, and taste preferences. This is a masterpiece of delicious ways to enjoy whole plant foods - including an entire tutorial on making green smoothies, a slew of rich optionally oil-free dressings, and a chapter of mouth-watering whole plant burgers." -Julieanna Hever, MS, RD, CPT, author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition
"Dreena nailed it with this delectable and innovative selection of world-class recipe that just so happen to be vegan." - Mark Reinfeld, award-winning author of The 30-Minute Vegan series and Executive Chef of www.veganfusion.com

My favorite part about this post (other than the delicious looking food on that cover!) is the fact that your kids call their grandparents Gram and Poppy--that's what I call mine, too!

  2. Oh that's neat Andrea! Yeah, that just developed naturally for the girls I think. My mom is their 'nanny', and my hubby's parents are 'gram and poppy'!!!

  4. excited too!! Yep, Audrey, you don't need any vegan meats or creams or cheeses, etc. I even came up with a quick fire 'yogurt' for a handful of recipes! Thx. :)

  11. Just pre-ordered it!! I love the bright, fun, catchy cover. The pictures just drew me in. What I love most about your recipes is the whole foods, plant based approach, and the lack of refined flour and sugar. Not to mention how tasty and easy they are! I'm looking forward to adding new "regulars" to my repertoire.

  34. Congratulations on the new book! My parents gave my husband and I a copy of 'Eat, Drink, & Be Vegan' for Christmas and we LOVE IT! We have made so many recipes from the book and the pesto has become a staple in our refrigerator. I actually made a four course meal (all recipes from the book) for my mom's birthday dinner. It was a hit with everyone and NO ONE could tell it was all vegan. I have never seen so many clean plates! I can't wait to get my hands on 'Let them eat vegan'. :)

  35. I am so excited!!!!! Posted this to facebook. I bet some of my vegan friends will be interested.

My copy of Viva Le Vegan is one of my favorite and most used cookbooks. It's got the food stains and dog eared pages to prove it.
