Beans, beans good for your heart, the more you eat...

Think you know the rest???  Perhaps... but, maybe not!  Link through for more, and to learn just what carrots, chickpeas, and fennel are good for.  :)  You'll also find my recipe for "Molasses Baked Beans" from Vive in my article.)
Dogs are wonderful, and in many ways unique.  But they are remarkably unremarkable in their intellectual and experiential capacities.  Pigs are every bit as intelligent and feeling, by any sensible definition of the words.  They can't hop into the back of a Volvo, but they can fetch, run and play, be mischievous, and reciprocate affection.  So why don't they get to curl up by the fire?  Why can't they at least be spared being tossed on the fire?  (p. 25, Eating Animals, Jonathan Safran Foer)

Hey Dreena! I couldn't find your email address, so I thought I'd drop you a comment. I love your baked goodies and wanted to see if you'd be interested in participating in an Online Bake Sale to raise money for Haiti that I'm hosting? I'm baking your Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies for my goodie. Click here to see the details on the bake sale. We have 50 bakers signed up already but I'd love it if you joined us. Thanks!

Hi Diana, thanks for the note. What a wonderful effort by you with this online bake sale. Can we donate without participating in the baking? (I'm assuming so, but please let me know where to go directly to do so.) I'd like to contribute to your efforts, it's just that I know I won't be very well organized to get shipping arranged of anything I bake (esp if shipping is outside of Canada, which it could likely be). But, I'd be happy to support your bake sale for Haiti directly through a donation. Pls let me know more. thx!

Thanks for all the awesome recipes and idea. I am nursing my 8 month old and he is intolerant of milk, soy, egg and nut. I am a vegetarian with vegan tendancies but I have to say...life with soy and nuts is hard! Dairy and egg are easy to replace. Anyway, again, thanks! I have one of your books and need to get your latest. -Heidi
