Fresh Raspberry Vinaigrette

It's hard for me to buy salad dressings.  So many of them taste like crap.  Really, so few of them taste good - and so many of them are bloody expensive.  If you have my books, you know I like to whip up vinaigrettes, creamy dressings, and the like.

This past week we had beautiful organic raspberries that I decided to work into a vinaigrette.  The color is just gorgeous.  It was creamy, tangy, and with plenty of raspberry flavor.   It was delicious just spooned over sliced avocado.  Our eldest daughter tasted it and said "mouthwatering sensation".  I cracked up!  Where does she get that?  I don't even say things like that!

Anyhow, I just picked up more fresh raspberries at the farmer's market this morn.  I'll give it another test (need to tweak a touch), and if I'm happy with it I'll post it this week so you too can enjoy this Fresh Raspberry Vinaigrette before raspberry season has past!

Speaking of the farmer's market, our girls were able to have a vegan treat today!  We were delighted to see a vegan baking booth, Sweet Delights.  They were just lovely people, and had a beautiful assortment of muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and even some breads.  The booth looked as classy as their website, with attractive displays and a warm, inviting appearance.  They are attending various famer's markets throughout the summer, link here for their schedule to get your fix at your own local market!   Yippeee for vegan treats!  I wish them well, we need to see more vegan goods at markets, cafes, restaurants, etc.

I always make my own salad dressings too! They're much better than store-bought, and so easy to put together.

I really enjoyed this post! Fun. I have had an odd challenge coming up with a razz vinaigrette I'm 100%stoked on, so I'll look forward to trying yours!
