VegNews in Top 50!

I know I'm not supposed to be blogging this week, but I just got an e-mail from VegNews that their magazine made the Chicago Tribune list of the 50 Best Magazines - ranking at number 18, and ahead of Time, Vogue, and Newsweek!!

What exciting news for this fabulous publication, and how encouraging for the vegan movement.

If you haven't yet read VegNews, go get yourself a copy! Better yet, go subscribe!

Okay, I'm back on my break now! :)

I've been buying it for months now and just finally subscribed! I got a free pint of Soy Delicious for subscribing, although I would have subscribed anyway.

That's great that it was ranked before a lot of those crappy magazines that actually made the list!

That is great!!! I buy at at the local animal-aiding second-hand store. Thanks for letting us know the news. Very cool for Veg News! YAY! I love that mag.

Awesome!! I've been a subscriber for several years now. But I'm still happy to see it in bookstores because maybe people will see a cool vegetarian magazine and buy it instead of a meaty cooking mag.

Missing you this week! Everytime I got to the coop I pick one up...we don't even have it available near here and the coop is well over an hour away.

That's great news!

Leslie, bonus on the ice-cream with the mag!! You can enter on Soy Del's site for a chance to win a year's supply of ice-cream, did you know that?? Only for US residents - :(

Hi Kleo, yes, very cool!! The more exposure the better... they deserve it with such excellent material in there every issue.

Well, Savanna, this news should help boost their subscriptions and circulation I would think, so let's hope more people make some veg changes. :)

Danielle, I would love to see it on the magazine racks here in Canada. I don't know if that will happen, but it would be brilliant to see it next to ones like VT and Veggie Life!

Aw, thanks Harmonia! If you are buying it regularly, you may want to check into subscribing - may be cheaper for you?? I have popped into the boards a couple of times. I will pop on a post next week too to help with the awareness for vegginout. Looks like it's catching on more and more from the views/replies! :)

I just recently discovered this magazine and I LOVE IT!! I'm going to order a subscription. I think I'll do it right now! I'm not surprised it beat out Vogue. I think that is one of the crappiest magazine ever. It's all ads! With magazines now costing anywhere from $6-$10 and sometimes more, I want to get the most that I can for my dollar. VegNews I think is by far the best veg magazine. Now, I haven't been able to find Herbivore around here yet. Have you seen that one Dreena? (or anyone). Thoughts?

Oh yes, Dreena, I knew about the online contest for the ice cream, and believe me, I've entered. It was funny you posted about this because I finally subscribed to VegNews earlier this week.

VegNews is my fav, too Ms. Mercedes! Thanks... I am tickled to be writing for them! :)

Carrie, no I haven't seen Herbivore anywhere, and I haven't ever read an issue... maybe someone can tell us what they think of it?? I agree about magazines - SO expensive for what you get. I was going to get a VT or Veggie Life the other day (I rarely buy magazines, but I think I am getting impatient for my next VegNews to arrive in the mail!!), but the price was about $7! I thought "hmmm, that's about half the price of a cookbook, and I can get so much more out of a whole book"!! So, now I'm going to treat myself to a cookbook - or two! :)

Oh, I think you'll love it, Leslie! I figured you knew about entering for the soy del year's supply, but I didn't want you to miss out. Like you, I have ice-cream every day I think!! Wish I could enter myself... or just get more of their flavors around here!
